At FPPC we take seriously the call to help nurture our youth to make a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ. The main tool that we use to that end is our confirmation classes. It is offered every other year for our 7th and 8th graders. This is a 20 week course that begins in the fall and concludes in the spring, and it culminates with our youth making their public confession of faith in Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday.
This class is taught by pastor Scott, but it is also a collaborative effort on the part of the parents of the confirmands, and elders of the church as well. During our study we will focus on grasping the broad overarching story of God’s salvation in Jesus Christ, as it comes to us from both the Old and New Testaments. We will also spend a good bit of time equipping our youth with practical ways for them to grow in Christian discipleship and also teaching them the unique distinctives of the Presbyterian way of being Christian.
