MISSIONS AND OUTREACH

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?  Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.  If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

                                                                                                                                                                                                            - James 2:14-16

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

                                                                                                                                                                                                      - Matthew 28:18-20

We support and participate in serving the following ministries with our time, talents, and resources.

THEOLOGY MATTERS

Theology Matters is a ministry that seeks to encourage, equipe, and educate people from a mainstream, evangelical, and reformed perspective, so that the gospel of Jesus Christ will be faithfully taught and passed on to the next generation of believers. This group ministers to people in the various wings of the scattered Presbyterian tradition, such as the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America (PCUSA), Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC), and Covenant Order of Presbyterians (ECO), from a Biblical, evangelical, and reformed perspective. Their ministry is carried out through a quarterly publication, an annual conference, various reading and study groups, and through online seminary courses. Our pastor participates in this ministry.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

We collect showboxes every year from our congregants and we also serve as a drop off spot for other churches and agencies in our community who support this ministry. When we give a shoebox we give so much more, we give the gospel of Jesus Christ! Thousands of people come to faith in Christ each year through this wonderful ministry.

YOKEFELLOW MINISTIRES

Yokefellow is a ministry that focuses on alleviating hunger in our community by providing food to families. They support their ministry through donations from area churches, businesses, and individuals, and through their thrift store.

GOOD NEWS CLUB

Our church leads a Good News club each week during the school year at the Boys and Girls Club of Statesville.  Good News Club is an evangelistic ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship that seeks to reach elementary school aged children for Jesus Christ, so that they may come to personal saving faith in Christ and walk as his disciple.

FIFTH STREET MINISTRIES

This ministry works with the homeless community and victims of domestic violence in our town, by helping to feed, cloth, and shelter them, with the goal of getting them get back on their feet so they can become productive, self-sufficient, emotionally and spiritually healthy  citizens again.

POWERCROSS

Power Cross is an athletic ministry for boys from elementary school all the way through high school. Each week they participate in athletic events and training, receive tutoring for their schoolwork, are fed an evening meal, and attend several Bible Studies throughout the week. This ministry is having a significant impact on the young men in our community, especially those who find themselves in challenging socio-economic and familial situations. The goal of this ministry is to lead them to personal faith in Jesus Christ and teach them how to one day become productive citizens and good fathers, with the goal of positively affecting the whole family for Christ and the culture.

CLOVERLEAF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Each year our church collects school supplies and backpacks at the beginning of the school year to help the families of students who are in need.

GIRL SCOUTS

Our church is privileged to host two Girl Scout dens each week. It is a joy to bless this group of kids with God’s property at FPPC. In addition, we honor them once a year in a Sunday morning worship service.

CROSSROADS CARE CINIC

This local ministry of the Pregnancy Resource Center is for women who find themselves with an unexpected pregnancy and who are considering an abortion. The goal of this ministry is to support these ladies and encourage them to not abort their children and then support them in the raising of their children, or through the adoption process.
