Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse that delivers
gift-filled shoeboxes to children around the world in Jesus' Name. This is a tangible expression of God's love as ministry partners share the Good News of Jesus Christ, God's Greatest Gift. Since 1993, more than 232 million children in over 170 countries and territories have received a shoebox gift. There are two ways to pack a shoebox.
First, if you pack a box in person, OCC has a gift suggestions list at
https://samaritanspurse.org/occ-gift-suggestions
You are asked to use a standard-sized shoebox (the church has these).
Select a quality "wow" item such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal.
Fill to the brim with other fun toys, personal care items, and school supplies.
Include an encouraging note and photo for the child. Pray for the child who will receive your gift. A suggested donation of $10 per shoebox helps to cover shipping and other project costs. Make your donation online through Follow Your Box and discover the country destination of your shoebox gift: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/label-options/
The second way to pack a shoebox is to Build A Shoebox Online. These gifts go to
hard-to-reach places where there is little or no access to the Gospel. Every $30 provides a child with a shoebox gift and the opportunity to hear the Gospel.
Follow the steps online to personalize each gift. You can also upload a photo and write a letter to each shoebox recipient. The suggested donation for shoeboxes built online is $30.
Forest Park has a goal this year of 40 online boxes and 30 in-person boxes, but of course we want to
exceed both of those goals.
Our online goal page (which is where to start building your shoeboxes online) can be found at
Please have in-person shoeboxes fully completed and in the church narthex by Sunday, November 16th.
If you would like to volunteer to help with Shoebox collection at the fellowship hall during the week of November 17-23, please contact Doug Griffith at 704.785.6935 Or you can sign up to help at this linkhttps://bit.ly/FPDropOff2025
